Are you on vacation in Australia and want to extend your stay but don’t have enough to support your extended stay? The working holiday visa subclass 417 allows young adults to extend their stay while they work to fund their holiday in Australia.

‍First Working Holiday Visa

This visa lets you have your first extended holiday and work in Australia to help fund your stay.

You may do short-term work in Australia and even study for up to four months.

With this visa, you can travel to and out of Australia as many times as you want.

Eligibility criteria

• You must be 18 to 30 years of age. If you are a Canadian, French or Irish citizen, the age limit extends between 18 to 35 years old.
• You must not have previously entered Australia on a working holiday visa subclass 417, or a work and holiday visa subclass 462.
• You must have enough money to support your stay in Australia, that is, about $5,000 for your initial stay plus the travel fare to where you will travel to after leaving Australia.
• You must be outside Australia during application and until the decision of application is made.

Cost

This visa costs $495 with additional charges for health checks, police certificates and biometrics. The visa processing time may take less than a day up to 17 months, depending on the information you share.
